contact the RSPCA if you loose your bird
A few weeks ago we lost our beloved cockatiel "Jojo" outside at night time, the experience was heart breaking, hearing him flying round & round saying "where you going where you going" as he always says whenever he or us go or move anywhere, we thought he would fly back to us because we cannot go anywhere or leave the room without him asking "where you going" & flying to one of us. we spent the night walking round the area shouting him with no luck. the following day we rang the local council, police & the RSPCA hoping that he may already be found but nothing. by the end of the night i was starting to feel ill. the day after that i was thinking thats it we've lost him, the feelings the same as losing a child, but just after 4 in the afternoon the phone rang with a lovely lady from the RSPCA saying they just received a call from the holiday inn (about 4 miles from my home near nottingham) telling them that they had found a cockatiel matching Jojo's discription. well that was it, its like a massive weight lifted off your shoulders, i knew it was him anyway just from what the lady at the RSPCA said about how he was found. he flew to a lady eating a bag of crisps near the hotel and wouldn't leave her alone! thankfully the lady knew it wasn't right that a cockatiel was out & had the sense to put him into her bag & take him to the reception at the hotel for their help! unfortunately the lady never left her name with the hotel so we've not been able to thank her. the service the RSPCA provided us was excelent, well done to them. jojos fine now back to normal after a long fly & two nights out! but for such a tame bird i didn't think he would make it back home
